Islambek Rustambekov delivered a speech at International Conference on Competition Law
Professor Islambek Rustambekov, Acting Rector of Tashkent State University of Law, took part in the International Conference on Competition Law, organized at the initiative of the Asia Competition Association (ACA).
The conference aimed to promote the development of competition policy and legislation in the Asian region, strengthen the principles of a fair market, and foster international cooperation and exchange of experience. During the event, Professor Rustambekov delivered a presentation titled “Current Trends in Competition Law and Policy in Uzbekistan”.
In his address, he highlighted the key reforms implemented in Uzbekistan over the past seven years to improve the competitive environment, ensure equal opportunities for business entities, and enhance the legal framework for competition. He also elaborated on the new Competition Law adopted in 2023, noting Uzbekistan’s innovative approach to regulating digital platforms and the application of RegTech technologies, which drew significant interest from participants.
On the sidelines of the conference, Professor Islambek Rustambekov held discussions with international experts to identify further areas of cooperation aimed at promoting Uzbekistan’s experience and studying best international practices.
