An article by Kamola Alieva has been indexed in the “Scopus Q1” Database

Kamola Alieva, an Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional Law at Tashkent State University of Law, Doctor of Philosophy in Law (PhD), has published a sole-authored article titled “Revealing the Barriers to Women's Political Participation in Uzbekistan”, which has been indexed in the “Scopus” database (Q1).

The article analyzes structural barriers that limit women’s political participation in Uzbekistan, particularly legal and institutional factors. Despite advancements in education and employment, gaps in legislation, inconsistencies in law enforcement, and gender stereotypes continue to hinder women’s active involvement in political leadership and decision-making processes.

The study explores how women’s political activity is shaped by external pressures and internal legal and institutional resistance. The author emphasizes that while ongoing political and legal reforms are significant, they remain insufficient without broader institutional and social changes.

The article also highlights how legislative changes intersect with financial and social gender-based constraints, further complicating women’s participation in politics. It argues for the need for not only quantitative but also substantive legal and political inclusion.
