A delegation of 18 lawyers from the Aichi Bar Association (Japan) visited Tashkent State University of Law.
As part of the visit, the delegation met with the Rector of the University, Professor Bakhshillo Khodjaev.
The meeting focused on Uzbekistan’s legal system, law enforcement practices, mechanisms for the legal review of draft legislation, and the development of professional cooperation between legal practitioners in the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to creating opportunities for TSUL students to undertake internships at Japanese law firms. The parties exchanged views on this initiative and agreed to cooperate in this area.
The initiative will enable future legal professionals to gain first-hand insight into foreign legal practice, acquire international experience and develop their professional competencies.
During the visit, the Japanese lawyers also learned about the activities of the Japanese Law Research Centre, established at TSUL in cooperation with Nagoya University.
