An important step towards establishing a modern campus for Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) has been taken in New Tashkent. A ceremony marking the laying of the first bricks for the construction of the new university campus was held.
The event was attended by Akbar Tashkulov, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Professor Bakhshillo Khodjaev, Rector of TSUL; deputy ministers; representatives of the University’s leadership; and academic staff.
This initiative represents a logical continuation of large-scale reforms aimed at fundamentally improving the quality of legal education in the country, developing modern educational infrastructure in line with international standards, strengthening the integration of research and practice, and training highly qualified and competitive legal professionals.
In particular, the priorities outlined in the Presidential Decree of 26 November 2025, “On Measures to Further Reform Legal Education and Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan,” are intended to bring the legal education system to a new level, combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills, promote the widespread adoption of innovative educational technologies, and enhance the University’s research capacity.
The construction of the TSUL campus in New Tashkent is one of the key projects aimed at achieving these strategic objectives.
The new campus will create additional opportunities to further develop the University’s international cooperation, attract foreign lecturers and researchers, expand joint educational programmes, and improve the effectiveness of scientific research.
During the event, it was emphasized that the development of legal education and science is one of the important priorities of state policy. At the same time, alongside high-quality education, advanced infrastructure and an innovative academic environment play a crucial role in training modern legal professionals.
In the context of globalization and digital transformation, lawyers are expected not only to possess solid theoretical knowledge but also to have the skills to work with modern technologies, find innovative solutions to complex legal issues, and actively participate in international legal processes.
From this perspective, the new campus will contribute to further strengthening the capacity of Tashkent State University of Law as a modern higher education institution founded on the harmonious integration of education, research and practice.
The establishment of the University’s campus in New Tashkent is of historical significance not only for TSUL but also for the country’s entire legal education system. This initiative will make a significant contribution to training a new generation of legal professionals, creating an internationally competitive academic and research environment, and strengthening Uzbekistan’s position as a regional centre for legal education.
