The department of Theory of state and law

Motto: Theory and history of law – the threshold of jurisprudence!

Our objective: Training of personnel who will contribute to the development of a scientifically based democratic state based on the rule of law in Uzbekistan.

Our mission:

training of creative personnel with the ability of systematic analysis;
development of new generation textbooks, manuals and other teaching materials;
carrying out fundamental scientific research in the sphere of law;
organization of educational and cultural events aimed at raising the worldview and patriotism of young people;
expansion of international relations of the department in the sphere of theory and history of law.

Our modules:

5 modules in LLB:

Theory of state and law;
History of state and law;
Legal writing;
History of political and legal doctrines;
Law making;

4 modules in LLB:

Rule-making;
Modern tendencies in the development of law;
The main modern legal systems;
Introduction to law.

Scientific potential

The department is currently conducting research on “Improving women’s literacy in the sphere of family law” and “Legal regulation of performance appraisal of public administration”. The research is carried out in the framework of state scientific and technical programs.

By the department in 2015-2020:

10 monographs;
About 200 scientific articles;
15 articles were published in “Scopus”.
10 republican scientific conferences and round tables were held.

Our programs and projects: Research is being conducted to ensure the rule of law.

The department has such scientific tutorials as “Academic”, “Jurisprudence”. In these tutorials, students develop skills in conducting research in the sphere of Theory of state and law, working with scientific sources, preparation of scientific and journal publications.

Teaching staff:

Our teachers are constantly working on themselves, improving their skills and knowledge with foreign colleagues, sharing experiences.

Today the department has 4 professors, 2 senior associate professor, 4 senior teachers and 7 teachers. We regularly organize master classes with the participation of judges, lawyers and experts in the field to ensure the compatibility of theory and practice with students.

Teachers of the department are the authors of 6 textbooks, 10 monographs and 6 manuals.

In addition, 5 independent researchers and 1 doctoral student will take part in the educational process.
